TABOR MOUNTAIN, BOXCAR TO BEAVER LODGE SHELTER, SUNDAY, DEC. 17TH

The Caledonia Ramblers will be leading an Easy/Mod (B3c) hike/snowshoe this Sunday, Dec. 17th from Tabor Mountain’s cross-country ski centre (the boxcar), 24 km east of Prince George, southwest to the Beaver Lodge shelter. Although there likely will be more snow at Tabor Mountain than currently in Prince George, there may not be enough for proper snowshoeing. However participants should bring snowshoes with them, as well as possibly ice cleats or grippers. Hiking poles may also be helpful, but not essential. IF THERE’S A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IN THE AREA BEFORE SUNDAY, THIS TRIP WILL DEFINITELY GO AHEAD AS A SNOWSHOE. Participants should also bring hiking boots, a day backpack, sufficient water or perhaps something hot to drink, lunch and snacks, extra warm clothing and gaiters. They should also bring rain gear if the weather turns warm. Please meet 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of 9 a.m. in the parking lot behind Prince George City Hall. The carpool fee is $3.
