Destination: Tumbler Ridge
The Caledonia Ramblers will be hosting a trip to Tumbler Ridge over the Canada Day long weekend. Two sites have been booked at the Lions Club Flatbed Creek Campground just north of the town. The sites will effectively work as parking spots for the vehicles and while we can pitch our tents in a field in behind. The campground features coin operated showers, firepits and, for a price, firewood. Cost is $20 per night per two tents – or $10 per night per tent.
As for the hikes, they will largely depend on the mood of the group but waterfalls will likely be a theme - Kinuseo Falls, Bergeron Falls (and Bergeron Cliffs) and Quality Falls (and Quality Canyon) might be worth checking out. We’ll be sticking to designated trails and likely nothing too difficult. The plan is to drive up on the Friday, June 29, although others are welcome to show up on Saturday, and leave on Monday, July 1. It’s about a 4 1/2-hour drive, not including stops. Anyone who’s interested can email Mark Nielsen.
The carpool fee is $40, Plus Lodging, Food
