The Caledonia Ramblers will be tentatively leading two work hikes on Sunday, May 27th to help improve two existing trails. Half the group who attends may go to the Fort George Canyon trail, 24.5 km south of Prince George, to possibly construct new plankways over wet areas, plus do some repairs to existing plankways. The second group may go to the new trailhead for the West Driscoll Ridge trail, 105 km east of Prince George, to possibly create a better path up the slope within the trail's first kilometre and to install a new bridge.
Although the club will provide some tools, club members are encouraged to bring some tools with them, such as hammers, Pulaskis, grub hoes, shovels, picks, etc. Participants should bring a day backpack, sufficient water or perhaps something else to drink, lunch and snacks, extra clothing and rain gear, gaiters, insect repellent and perhaps sunscreen and bear spray. The meeting time and carpool fees are yet to be determined, but participants will meet and depart from the parking lot behind Prince George City Hall.
The carpool fee is $TBA
