Destination: Forests for the World
The Caledonia Ramblers will be leading an Easy (A2a) snowshoe along the Who's Home trail, in Prince George's Forests for the World at the south end of Kueng Road, on Sunday, March 18th. Participants should bring a day backpack, sufficient water or perhaps something hot to drink, lunch and snacks, appropriate extra clothing, gaiters and hiking poles. As the weather forecast calls for warm days and cold nights for the next several days, snowshoers may also want to spray the bottom of their snowshoes with vegetable oil or rub petroleum jelly on them the night before the snowshoe and then place their snowshoes in a plastic bag overnight. This will help prevent wet snow sticking to snowshoes during the trip. Participants may also want to bring ice cleats (grippers) with them. Please meet 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of 10 a.m. in the parking lot behind Prince George City Hall.
The carpool fee is $2
