Fort George Canyon

Description

The trail starts well outside of Fort George Canyon Provincial Park but takes you right down to the Fraser River. It is a lovely walk through pine, spruce, birch, and poplar forests typical of our area. Please consult the Central Interior Trail Guide for more details on the trail and history of the area.

Trail Conditions

The trail is in very good condition and is used fairly heavily. Be careful around the river, especially when the water is high.

Directions

Travelling west on Highway 16 from Prince George, turn left onto the Blackwater Road and follow it for 11.3 km, then turn left onto West Lake Road. Follow West Lake Road for 9.7 km and turn left onto an unnamed road. Follow this road for approximately 3 km to a parking lot.
