Destination: Grand Canyon of the Fraser
Depending on the weather, the Caledonia Ramblers will be hosting a trip to either Grand Canyon of the Fraser or Driscoll Ridge West on Sunday, March 17. The intention is to go to Grand Canyon of the Fraser, but if it’s decided that the ice on Kenneth Creek is too thin to cross, then the destination will be Driscoll Ridge West. (Please note that this is a change in the plan for March 17 – Driscoll Ridge West is now a backup plan to Grand Canyon of the Fraser). Grand Canyon of the Fraser is rated moderate-strenuous, D2dr, and Driscoll Ridge West is rated strenuous, D4d. Either way, please be equipped with snowshoes, proper footwear and clothing and a day pack carrying food, something hot to drink, extra clothing and other items appropriate for a day hike. Hiking poles are also worth considering. Meet at the city hall parking lot 10 minutes before the schedule departure time of 7:30 a.m.
The carpool fee is $8 Grand Canyon of the Fraser or $12 Driscoll Ridge West
