Destination: Viking Ridge
The Caledonia Ramblers will be leading a Strenuous (E5e) snowshoe up the Viking Ridge trail, 80 km east of Prince George, on Sunday, Dec. 16th. The ultimate destination for this trip will depend on weather, snow and/or avalanche conditions, and the leader's and participants' wishes, but could include Viking Meadows, Point of No Return, the lake below Viking Ridge, or Viking Ridge summit. Participants should bring a day backpack, sufficient water or perhaps something hot to drink, lunch and snacks, extra warm clothing, gaiters and hiking poles. Hikers may also want to bring ice cleats (grippers) in case the lower part of the trail is icy and possibly rain gear and bear spray. Please meet 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of 7 a.m. in the parking lot behind Prince George City Hall.
The carpool fee is $8
