TABOR MOUNTAIN TREK TO BEAVER POND, DEC. 17TH

The Caledonia Ramblers will be leading an Easy/Moderate (B2c) snowshoe/hike up Tabor Mountain’s Sawdust trail to the beaver pond shelter, 28 km east of Prince George, on Saturday, Dec. 17th. Participants should bring lots of warm clothing, plus adequate food and a hot drink, as Environment Canada’s long-range forecast for Dec. 17th calls for a high of -20 C. Participants should also bring both snowshoes and ice cleats with them, in case there is a shortage of snow and possibly icy trails. If conditions are more favourable than forecast and if hikers/snowshoers are willing, this trip’s duration and distance may be lengthened. Please meet 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of 9 a.m. in the parking lot behind Prince George City Hall. The carpool fee is $3.

THIS SNOWSHOE/HIKE MAY BE SHORTENED, ALTERED OR POSSIBLY CANCELLED DUE TO EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER. BUT A HIKE LEADER WILL BE AT THE CITY HALL PARKING LOT SATURDAY AT 9 A.M. TO CONSULT WITH THOSE WHO SHOW UP.
