Five Caledonia Ramblers are each proud owners of an Avalanche Canada Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 (AST I) certificate after successfully completing a two-day AST I course. The course was taught by Craig Evanoff and Bonnie Hooge of Dezaiko Lodge with the Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC helping to subsidizing part of the cost. The Ramblers believe that this is the first AST I course ever organized specifically for snowshoers among Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC clubs.
