Sixteen enthusiastic members of the Caledonia Ramblers set out to explore the Blackwater East / Blackwater Canyon Loop southwest of Prince George. The group enjoyed moderate terrain, open forest walking, and sweeping views of the Blackwater River canyon under gorgeous blue skies. The hike followed a section of the Blackwater Canyon Trail, which begins near the Blackwater Crossing Recreation Site and offers multiple loop options through Douglas fir forests and along the canyon rim, stopping for lunch at a viewpoint overlooking the river.
