Seventeen cheerful Ramblers hiked their way up Fraser Mountain this Mother’s Day. By the time the Ramblers reached the summit, they weren’t just admiring the sweeping Nechako Valley views—they were standing on land layered with stories of Carrier First Nations history, frontier homesteads, and the spirited growth of a town that once began as nothing more than a survey line in the wilderness (nearby Vanderhoof). A perfect Mother’s Day: fresh air, good company, and a mountain with tales to tell.
