Twelve Ramblers showed up to snowshoe the Giscome portage. It was decided the snowshoe would start at the Mitchell road trailhead and go right thru to Barney road, so a shuttle would be needed.
There was fresh snow and the temperature was just below freezing making for a beautiful day. The trail had quite a bit of blow down, some of which when going around made it hard to find the trail again and in some cases had us go in circles.
As the trail was not packed, a huge thank you to all that broke the trail that day, you were very much appreciated. The snowshoe was just over 9Km and took about 5 hours, including our stop for lunch/breaks.
Thank you to Sylvia for volunteering, it was a great day of snowshoeing!
