On October 4th, 23 Ramblers enjoyed the 8.5 km hike on the Giscome Portage trail. We trekked through some muddy patches filled with bear and elk prints. Various mushrooms were observed; including a purple one and a fungus resembling a ‘turkey tail’. The local beaver gave us a difficult time crossing the dam he constructed. Despite the challenges it was a very successful hike!
