We started with nine but ended with 6. Unfortunately one did not have snow shoes and once we got off the road the snow was deep, two others had time restraints and could only join us for part of the trip.
Did anyone else notice that Dave's snowshoes make happy faces?
The weather was beautiful, when we started it was about -14 but when we got back to the cars it was only -6. The loop trip was just under 10km, we parked and ended at the old post office at the end of Mitchell road. There was still snow on the trees, and a lot of fresh unbroken snow making for spectacular beauty all around us. In the fields the wind blown snow made for beautiful unique patterns. We lunched in a nice sunny spot along the mighty frozen Fraser river. We saw many tracks in the snow, including grouse, moose, ermine, and rabbit to name a few.
Thank you to all that broke trail as it was deep, especially when falling through right up to the hip!
Great choice Dan, thank you for volunteering.
