Seven sweaty Ramblers made it to the peak of Sugarbowl on a very warm Sunday afternoon.
Those first four kilometers are as steep as ever, but once past that point it does level out until the final kilometer to the top. The views did not disappoint, in the distance you could see Baldy, Longworth, Sir Alexander, Viking ridge, and Caledonia to name a few. There is also a beautiful turquoise lake to which none of us knew if it had a name.
Bugs you ask, oh yes they were there, mosquitoes, flies and very big horse flies.
Thank you Tim for clearing some of the deadfall along the trail.
Thank you Melanie for volunteering your time to lead this hike. For some it was their first time on this mountain, it was a great day and we all expressed how happy we were to have conquered Sugarbowl.
