Destination: Pidherny

The Caledonia Ramblers will be leading an easy/moderate hike along an assortment of trails in the southwest corner of the Pidherny Recreation Site and overlooking the Nechako River. Distance is about 10 km over mostly moderate terrain but with some steep sections. Great views of the river and of the city beyond along the way. Should take about four hours to complete. Participants should consider bringing both ice cleats (ice grippers) and snowshoes for this trip, depending on weather and snow conditions. They should also bring hiking boots, a day backpack, sufficient water or perhaps something hot to drink, adequate food or snacks, extra warm clothing and gaiters. Hiking poles may also prove useful. Please meet 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time of 9 a.m. at the Prince George City Hall parking lot.
