Today, eight intrepid ramblers set off on an epic adventure to conquer Sugarbowl Mountain! As the sun blazed high, two hikers decided to turn back at the bench, leaving six of us to continue onwards. One valiant hiker stopped just short of the summit, but five adventurous spirits kept climbing until they reached the peak. For all but one of us, this hike was a first, and sharing those breathtaking views at the top was an experience we'll never forget!
With the mercury clocking in at around 26°C when we finally made it back to our cars, we tackled the 14km return journey with smiles on our faces. My watch showed just over 1100m of elevation gained—definitely a challenge but totally worth it! The trail was in great shape, with only two trees down to navigate around.
What an exhilarating day it was! Big thanks to Tim and Richard for leading the way and making this adventure possible.
