Home Lake

Description

Home Lake hiking trail is located south of Vanderhoof, BC. This 6 km trail has a cabin on the west end of Home Lake that can be used in every season on a first come, first served basis (2 night stay maximum). This is a very flat trail which makes it an easy/moderate hike.

During the summer the trail is used by hikers, horseback riders and by people who enjoy outdoor fishing. In the winter, the trail is a popular destination for cross country skiers and snowmobilers.

Well marked trail with some portions being quite wet and muddy.

Directions

From Prince George head West on Highway 16 to Vanderhoof. Once in Vanderhoof turn left onto Kenney Dam Road heading west, follow this paved road past the Sai'kuz First Nation Village. The road will transition to a gravel road and you'll come to the intersection of the Kenny Dam, Kluskus and Telegraph Forest Services Roads. Turn left onto the Kluskus FSR and travel 5.3 km and there should be parking on the right and the start of the trailhead.
