Tacheeda Lookout

Description

HAZARD NOTICE: Access roads to the Tacheeda Lookout trail, the Tacheeda Lakes and beyond (the 700, 800 and 2000 forest service roads, or Redrocky Road and Colbourne Road) will be extremely busy with industrial traffic this summer, fall and winter, largely due to pipeline construction, ongoing logging operations and ongoing railway operations. Recreation Sites and Trails BC is advising anyone travelling these roads should be equipped with and know how to use two-way radios.

Mount Terry Fox

Description

Mount Terry Fox is found just north of Valemount in Mount Terry Fox Provincial Park.

The standard route initially follows 17 switchbacks up to a pine-covered ridge top, then follows a series of cairns and a well-trodden path to a radio tower. From there the summit is a further two kilometres to the east and the monument is 2.5 kilometres to the north. There is also a connecting route between the two.

A small alpine lake just beyond the radio tower is the only source of water up to that point.
