Destination: Birchleg Trail

The Hickory Wing Ski Club has decided to cancel the annual Birchleg ski event at Tabor Mountain this year.

The Caledonia Ramblers have been invited to take part in the Hickory Wing Ski Touring Club's annual Birchleg event at Tabor Mountain, 25 km east of Prince George, on Sunday, Jan. 26th. This event is open to both cross-country skiers and snowshoers. The Easy route the Ramblers (snowshoers) plan to take will start around 10 a.m. from the Moose Viewing Area pullout on the north side of Hwy 16. Snowshoers will then cross the highway and head west for five km to the ski club's boxcar parking lot where a fire and free hot dogs, snacks and drinks will await. A donation box will be located here for those wishing to make donations to the ski club for trail maintenance. Please meet 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time in the parking lot behind Prince George City Hall.
