Destination: Giscome Portage
The Caledonia Ramblers will be leading an easy snowshoe along on the Giscome Portage trail. Designated a Heritage Trail, it crosses the Continental Divide, which separates the Pacific and Arctic watersheds. Historically the route was known and used by the indigenous peoples of the area. Participants should bring a day backpack, sufficient water or perhaps something else to drink, lunch and snacks, extra clothing and rain gear, insect repellent, gaiters and perhaps sunscreen, hiking poles and bear spray. Please meet 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time of 8:00 a.m. at the Tim Hortons' parking lot in the Hart.
